Starting in 2019, the Rhaetian Railway procured 56 new four-part ABe 4/16 multiple units from Stadler Rail. The first multiple units were used on the Landquart - Davos - Filisur route for the first time in 2020. From 2021, the Landquart-Klosters-Davos / St. Moritz. At least two trains run in double traction from Landquart to Klosters, where the trains are separated and one part continues to Davos and the other runs via the Vereina tunnel to St. Moritz. The procurement of the Capricorn multiple units is the largest rolling stock procurement project in the History of the Rhaetian Railway. The order volume is over 500 million Swiss francs. The elegant compositions will have a decisive influence on the image of the RhB over the next few decades. The in itself inseparable compositions are provided with automatic couplings and allow the coupling of up to four units.

With our new announcement RhB Capricorn ABe 4/16 multiple units, we want to emphasize in an impressive way that models are a passion for Kiss Modellbahnen Schweiz and not just a slogan. After the announcement of a shortened Capricorn for the 2m gauge of the large-scale manufacturer, we decided to realize this shapely prototype as a strictly limited exclusive edition, as an absolutely true-to-scale handcraft model on a scale of 1: 22.5. The focus is on the scale, i.e. no compromises in length and width dimensions with this model. The model will satisfy all demands on a true-to-scale model for use on the model railway or in the showcase. The Capricorn (Rhaeto-Romanic for „Steinbock“) from Kiss Modellbahnen Schweiz will redefine the predicate “size matters”.

The models are only produced with enough orders in a single edition of 10 to 20 pieces per version. Post-production is excluded.
We will decide in the summer of 2022 on the basis of the pre-orders whether the train will definitely be realized in series.
